Journey to Hakuba Japan

Hakuba Adventure

There are two internation airports in Tokyo. Narita (NRT) and Hanenda (HND). Either will do, but landing prior to 5:00pm allows you time to go straight on to Hakuba. Otherwise, stay a night in Tokyo, and check out the Shinjuku district.

WOW! I’m going to Japan. A place I have wanted to visit. This will be the first stop on the FWT tour.  I have heard the snow is of plenty, the culture so different, great food, the people welcoming, and maybe wild monkey sightings while skiing the trees!  Travel there seems so complicated mainly due to the language barrier and the size of Tokyo. I started writing this blog just to help me sort it all out, and document what I did.

After landing in Tokyo, I will head west towards Nagano. There are several transport options. Bus, train, bullet train, or shuttle Van. Either way, it will take about 4 hours, and the first 2 hours will feel like you’re still leaving Tokyo. Luckily I don’t have to make the choice this time. FWT has hooked me up with a shuttle.  The last hour between Nagano and Happo-one the drive will take me through some mountain villages.

Looking forward to skiing the Forbidden Trees.
